Go live! The official opening of the Swiss Digital Days 2020

What do we want from the digital future? This question is the prelude to the Digital Days 2020 and will be answered by the population, by the President of the Swiss Confederation Simonetta Sommaruga, by the Mayor of Berne Alec von Graffenried, the mayors of the more than 20 participating cities and cantons, by futurologist Karin Frick, and by the Council of States Ruedi Noser, musician Dodo and Diana Engetschwiler, who are responsible for the Digital Days 2020.

Simonetta Sommaruga

President of the Swiss Confederation

Swiss politician serving as President of the Swiss Confederation for the year 2020. She is a member of the Social Democratic Party and has been a member of the Federal Council since 2010. President Simonetta Sommaruga has been Head of the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications since 2019 and was previously Head of the Federal Department of Justice and Police.

Ruedi Noser


Von 2003 bis 2015 war ich Nationalrat, zuvor vier Jahre lang Kantonsrat. Von 2013 bis 2015 habe ich die nationalrätliche Kommission für Wirtschaft und Abgaben präsidiert. Von 2003 bis 2009 war ich Vizepräsident der FDP Schweiz. Seit Dezember 2015 vertrete ich den Kanton Zürich im Ständerat und wurde im Herbst 2019 für weitere vier Jahre in diesem Amt bestätigt.

Alec von Graffenried

Mayor of the City of Berne

Alec Von Graffenried grew up in Bern. He studied law at the University of Bern from 1982. After completing his studies he worked as an advocate. From 2000 to 2007, he served as government governor of the Bernese district. From 2007 to 2016 he was director of Losinger Marazzi AG. From 2010 to 2017 he was president of Bern Tourism. Currently (as of 2019) he is President of the Berne Section of the New European Movement Switzerland and President of the Berne Section of the NHG Rencontres Suisses as well as a member of numerous associations.

Karin Frick

Since 1999 Dodo is active as a musician. In February 2015 his biggest hit to date, "Hippie-Bus", was released in anticipation of his album "Anti-Brumm", which achieved gold status. Also his latest album "Pfingstweid", which is a tribute to his "Success Club Studio" and features stars like Steff la Cheffe, Lo&Leduc, Nemo, Dabu Fantastic or Marc Sway, received gold. Currently Dodo is writing and producing his latest album, which will be released in spring 2021.
Dodo is also one of the most successful music producers in Switzerland: in 2007 he discovered the rapper and beatboxer Steff la Cheffe, followed by productions for Lo&Leduc and James Gruntz. In 2016, Dodo surprised the Swiss music scene with his production for the young talent Nemo, who received four Swiss Music Awards for these productions.

Diana Engetschwiler

Head of Public Dialogue + Digital Days

Diana Engetschwiler heads the "Public Dialogue & Digital Days" initiative at digitalswitzerland and is currently studying at Harvard Business School. 

Prior to this, Diana Engetschwiler worked as a manager of a sports rehabilitation center, spent several years working for the Mecca of Sports at FIFA and was a member of the Swiss national volleyball team. On a personal level, she lectures on the topic of "Athletes mind in business" and explored 40 countries, mostly as a solo backpacker.

Urs Schaeppi
